Produce Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Produce Clerk. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, packaging and maintaining produce items, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the produce department.

Duties:

- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their produce needs

- Package and label produce items according to company standards

- Maintain the quality and freshness of produce by rotating stock and removing any damaged or expired items

- Keep the produce department clean and organized, including cleaning display cases, shelves, and storage areas

- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of any shortages or overages

- Receive incoming produce shipments, inspecting for quality and accuracy

- Assist with stocking shelves and displays as needed

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

Skills:

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

- Knowledge of different types of produce and their proper handling techniques

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Experience in retail sales or customer service is a plus

- Familiarity with warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, or inventory management is beneficial

- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
