Description

 Leg Up Farm is an award winning, outpatient pediatric therapy center located on an 18 acre campus in York county.  


The Facility Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the site from the perspective of overall facility appearance, safety, and functionality. The goal of the Facility Manager is to ensure that the facility is operating at maximum efficiency in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The term “site” includes all buildings, grounds, structures and other features located on the property.  The Facility Manager, together with the President, should construct/maintain short and long-term plans for facility maintenance, this includes budget projections for current and future needs. The Facility Manager is also responsible for supervising the work performance of the facility staffing team, including contractors, vendors, and volunteers recruited specifically for facility maintenance tasks 

Requirements

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Plans, organizes, and coordinates maintenance and repairs of physical buildings and grounds.

· Develops and maintains a Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule for company-owned assets, excluding IT equipment.

· In collaboration with the Leadership Team, plans and implements capital improvement projects and renovations.

· Performs daily inspection of buildings and grounds for needed repairs, safety issues, cleanliness, pest   control, etc.

· Ensures the site is compliant with OSHA, ADA, and any federal, state, and local laws and codes.

· Coordinates the activities of the facilities staffing team and contracted janitorial service to assure a high standard of cleanliness.

· Oversees volunteer groups assisting the organization with basic facility maintenance tasks (i.e. landscaping, painting, etc.).

· Implements and maintains a Work Order system for routine maintenance requests to ensure items are completed on time and    within budget.

· Is an active and contributing member of the organization’s Safety Committee.

· Reviews and maintains the organization’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.

· Coordinates fire, security, and safety programs; conducts regular fire safety drills.

· Maintains and stores adequate quantities of emergency supplies.

· Works closely with the Development team regarding upcoming fundraising events/activities, to ensure the facility is properly set up and prepared to host the events.

· Assists in landscaping and site beautification activities, in addition to routine lawn care. 

· Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies – including oil and gasoline for motorized vehicles and all lawn care and snow removal equipment.

· Responds to emergency maintenance calls outside of normal business hours; including nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Performs the job responsibilities of maintenance workers in their absence. 

 

STAFF SUPERVISION

 

· Performs all aspects of  general supervisory duties including, but not limited to, participating in the recruiting process of new employees, training employees on work procedures, approving time off requests and weekly time cards, evaluating employees' work performance by providing regular and timely feedback, and conducting effective scheduled performance evaluations within established guidelines; sets challenging yet achievable goals tailored for each staff member.

· Oversees outside vendors and contractors performing work at the site; including volunteers performing facility related tasks. 

 

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL

 

· This position belongs to   a class of employees referred to as Essential Personnel. Essential personnel are those needed on site to meet the needs of our animals, plants, or general maintenance operations when the facility is closed due to inclement weather   conditions. Essential personnel must report to work during their regularly scheduled hours, unless directed otherwise by their Supervisor.
