What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director position at Legacy Academy?

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfill the role as Assistant Director of our Preschool. The children at our center range in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The Preschool Assistant Director will help manage the daily operations of our growing center with enrollment of up to 200 children and up tp 25 staff members.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage key relationships with families and staff
  • Manage day to day operations within the center with enrollment of up to 200 children
  • Drive small size bus - 14 passenger vehicle. Does Not requires Commercial Driver’s License
  • Responsible for attending and or driving all field trips during school breaks while following BFTS transportation regulations
  • Conduct tours with perspective parents and help grow enrollment
  • Collect and record tuition payments
  • Manage State inspections and Quality Assurance visits
  • Substitute as teacher in classrooms or in kitchen as cook as needed
  • Record and manage children's immunization and health records
  • Attend scheduled operations meetings outside of regular business hours
  • Be a positive role model and coach to all peers and all staff
  • Must be flexible and available for opening and closing hours (schedule will alternate as needed)
  • Must be organized, able to multitask, and able to meet deadlines
  • Must be comfortable communicating with parents and addressing parent concerns
  • Write and distribute monthly calendars.
  • Weekly grocery/supplies shopping while staying in a certain budget.
  • Must be able to problem solve and handle any issues that arise with professionalism

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience as a Preschool center Director or Assistant Director (Preferred)
  • Degree or certificate in Early Childhood Education, Director's Credential or related field and/or CDA preferred
  • Experience with NAEYC accredited childcare center preferred
  • Experience with Quality Rated childcare center highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Bright From the Start
  • Comprehensive Background Check required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Prefered but not required)

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
