Overview: As a Transportation Driver at Legacy at Herington, you play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents. You will be responsible for providing transportation services to residents of our skilled nursing facility, ensuring they arrive safely and on time to their appointments and outings. This role requires a compassionate individual with excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest level of care to our residents.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Experience working in a healthcare or senior care setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for transporting elderly or disabled individuals
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other destinations as assigned
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the transportation vehicle, including regular inspections and maintenance checks
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure transportation needs are met promptly and efficiently
• Provide assistance and support to residents during transportation, including wheelchair assistance and mobility aid as needed
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle, ensuring the safety of all passengers and pedestrians
• Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transportation
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to transportation and resident care
