Position Overview
As a UI/UX Design Lead at Legacy.com, you’ll work closely with business, product, and technology leadership as the design leader responsible for realizing Legacy’s product vision.
Reporting to the Design Manager, the UI/UX Design employs design standards and best practices in information architecture, user experience, interaction design, and user interfaces. The role creates sketches, detailed wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes clearly and concisely communicating them to relevant stakeholders. The UI/UX Design Lead collaborates closely with product managers to initiate and facilitate user experience research and testing and performs analysis to inform user experience optimization efforts.
Success for the UI/UX Design Lead means not only contributing to a stellar customer experience through user experience design work, but by generating scale in the product design process.
The UI/UX Design Lead role represents a rare and unique opportunity to participate in a conversation about changing attitudes and practices around the end of life. Responsibilities
- Identify key customer experiences and associated business value, articulating clear cross-functional goals, design considerations, operational ramifications, and scope.
- Produce high-quality designs with solid craft and methods.
- Elevate user experience through prototyping, iterative design, testing and user research.
- Develop user personas and journey maps to inform marketing, sales and product development.
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
- Work directly with engineers through implementation, testing, documentation, and release.
Required Skills
- Experience with design tools such as Sketch, InVision, Framer, Adobe CC suite
- Superior wireframing, visual design, and prototyping skills
- Proven ability to get things done in cross-functional design and product development
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ever-changing, growth-stage organizations
- Proven grasp of the connection between business needs, innovation and good design
- The ability to refine other people’s ideas and come up with new ones
- Demonstrated thought leader, with a drive to stay current on relevant user experience trends
- Demonstrated user experience and visual design skills with a strong portfolio
Desired Experience
- 8 years’ experience in user experience design experience, as a key contributor to the product development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software applications
- Expert level skills in Sketch, Photoshop, InVision, and other relevant design tools
- Experience leading or mentoring junior design resources
- Strong preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and/or growth-stage experience
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in UX, Interaction or Visual Design
