Hospice Chaplain

We are adding a Hospice Chaplain to our Grove team!
Here at Legacy Hospice, we hire highly talented, compassionate, and uniquely qualified Chaplains to provide exceptional supportive services to their patients and families. Our Chaplains collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide essential and quality resources during the final stages of patients’ lives. It is the expectation of Legacy Hospice that our employees communicate with compassion and empathy with their patients, families, and to the communities we serve.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
- Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group.
- Comfort in an interfaith setting.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
- Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
- If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Hospice/experience preferred.
Once you join the Legacy family, you will proceed with our training program along with support and resources from our leadership team.
Within the first month, you will:
- Get to know your team and become acclimated to the hospice philosophy.
- Complete online training with your team.
- Shadow your team members to learn more about hospice care.
- Your team member will then ride with you while you visit patients to allow opportunity to ask questions while you work.
- After a month of New Hire training, you will be ready to case manage your own patients!
We allow a flexible onboarding schedule to allow you to move at a pace that you are comfortable with. At any time during training, you have any questions, always feel free to ask your Branch Administrator or team members.
