The Regional Safety Manager will serve as oversight for our clients in a commercial and construction setting. This position will help ensure work locations are in full compliance with federal, state, and OSHA requirements pertaining to electrical and construction safety.
The Regional Safety Specialist will be responsible for visiting job sights and overseeing safety procedures in the Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona area. The Regional Safety Specialist can reside in the following areas of the following cities and states:
San Luis Obispo County, San Diego County, Los Angeles County,
Responsibilities and Duties
- Identify and correct potential hazards and help ensure best known methods and safety regulatory compliance are in place
- Work with the operations team on any building or equipment issues which may involve environmental or safety issues
- Regularly update, maintain, and improve safety manual content
- Work around energized equipment
- Conduct or coordinate employee training in areas of field safety orientation, safe work standards, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment
- Conducts regular premise inspections according to Cal-OSHA requirements, coordinates repairs to facilities as needed with other staff and documents in writing.
- Maintains the OSHA safety log and other administrative requirements related to safety operations and regulations.
- Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Encourage a safety first attitude, but don’t act like a safety cop
- Special/Other projects as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual/Spanish Preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety Fields, construction preferred
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30
- CHST or CSP preferred.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (extreme heat, cold, depending on the time of year)
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers, vendors and the public.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good communication skills like timely, clear, and thorough responses; plus prompt delivery of timesheets and reports
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to perform the primary functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to work well with all levels of the organization from construction workers to senior management.
