Job Description
You will be leading Law Enforcement firearms qualifications for those who qualify to carry a weapon under LEOSA (HR 218). You will be Legal Heat’s local ambassador to Law Enforcement agencies in the region while projecting a positive image for Legal Heat.
Job Responsibilities
- Engage and instruct students in a safe and entertaining manner
- Maintain law enforcement relationships in a positive manner
- Present sponsored products in a positive and informative manner
- Maintain a safe range environment (if required)
- Travel to other locations within the region, occasionally overnight or on weekends
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Be an active, retired or reserve Arizona Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) certified firearms instructor
- Must be willing and able to get approval from AZ DPS CWPU (Concealed Weapon Permit Unit) to become a LEOSA instructor
- State and region-specific gun and training licenses and certifications required
- NRA Basic Pistol or NRA Law Enforcement Pistol Instructor Certification
- One year or more of firearms safety and handling instruction experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 21 years of age or older required
- Willing to travel within the region for training required
- Must have engaging public speaking skills required
- Must be able to control a classroom environment safely required
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, firearms instructor insurance with at least $1MM per incident / $2MM in aggregate coverage required
- Skills in advanced firearms and tactical training, tactical medical and/or non-lethal defense instruction preferred
