What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Attorney position at LEGAL SERVICES AL?
The Staff Attorney position provides high-quality free legal representation for cases in domestic violence, public benefits, elder law, tax assistance, consumer protection, education, and housing. In addition to providing legal representation to patients, the attorney will address the holistic needs of the client and will address social, non-medical determinants of health that prevent the patient’s ability to get well and return to social and economic stability. The Staff Attorney will provide information and resources to clients about the Family Medical Leave Act, job protections, and post-treatment benefit eligibility.

Qualifications: This position is an exciting opportunity for attorneys who are admitted to the Alabama Bar and who are passionate about serving low-income populations. Strong legal writing and communication skills are required.
Preference is given to attorneys who are bilingual.
