THE ROLE   

The Merchandise Manager will provide guests with quality merchandise and excellent service by effectively managing all aspects of the View Boston retail operation, including, but not limited to visual merchandising, inventory control, staffing, training, cost controls, accounting procedures and the operation of all retail outlets.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Maintain visual merchandising from LGM, evaluate planograms and basic visual merchandising standards with the retail team.
  • Ensure that the overall appearance of the merchandise store is kept at the highest level and to lead decisions related to the fundamentals of visual merchandising such as substitutions for sell-down or table/wall compositions.
  • Responsible for receiving inventory, checking per the sales order, and confirming it back to LGM to make sure that financial flow isn`t disrupted.
  • Develop warehousing plan to assure easy access and accountability of merchandise.
  • Develop training programs and train personnel, i.e., guest relations, inventory, cash handling.
  • Develop merchandising plan for all retail outlets.
  • Direct and oversee schedules for all hourly retail staff to guarantee proper payroll and management.
  • Perform period end inventory.
  • Perform all accounting functions.
  • Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating customer concerns.
  • Supervise assigned personnel, hire, terminate, discipline, evaluate performance and develop each employee to his/her potential.
  • Recommend and maintain preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of Legends.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a security function.
  • Implement and maintain effective communication with the client and all employees.
  • Assist in the development of programs that result in increased customer satisfaction.
  • Manage in compliance with established Legends' policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are in effect always.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
  •  Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 3 -5 years’ experience with merchandising and retail management of multiple facilities.
  • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
  • Excellent understanding of retail math. Ability to analyze KPIs and develop actions plans around those to drive sales and customer experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • High level of demonstrated professionalism and customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate with others.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work extended hours or irregular shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
