As an FP&A Manager, you will have the opportunity to report to and work closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting for Work Furniture and interact with all levels of management at the various branches (United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Poland, China) and at corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO. The qualified candidate will display high emotional intelligence, strong business acumen, outstanding analytical skills, and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
So, what will you be doing as a(n) FP&A Manager?
- Work closely with business and finance leaders to understand and optimize the underlying economics and drivers of EBITDA and free cashflow.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans driven by insights from income statement, balance sheet, and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and improve the FP&A activity for the BU. Scope includes forecasting, month/quarter-end reporting/analysis, and new reporting required to improve the business.
- Improve the current month-end consolidation and reporting process, including both efficiency and quality of outputs.
- Develop and implement new approaches to forecasting including materiality and an evaluation of the level at which forecasting must occur within the BU.
- Participate in development of the strategic plans and work closely with the branch leadership teams to establish the annual operational budgets, capital plans, and working capital initiatives.
- Evaluate new tools to support analytics and reporting.
- Develop Power BI sales and product profitability reporting from a newly established database of sales and standard cost of sales data.
- Consider whether Power BI can support month-end reporting.
- Serve as the primary financial resource for the BU Sales organization and leverage corporate resources to drive efficiency and insight for the BU.
- Work with the Director of Finance & Accounting and Branch Controllers on ad hoc analyses including but not limited to product/program profitability, working capital optimization, pricing, and capital investment.
- Financial oversight for WFBU branch(es), including direct report(s)
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA, CMA or CPA required, or an appropriate level of relevant experience.
- 5 years FP&A and/or manufacturing finance experience required.
- Good understanding of financial (ERP) systems and IT infrastructure with strong understanding of financial accounting fundamentals. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and/or the demonstrated ability to leverage complex data management systems.
- Strong Excel skills: ability to help improve our team with similar capabilities, ability to convert data to information.
- Desire to spend time on the production floor and the insight to connect manufacturing to the financials.
