Western Pneumatic Tube, a division of Leggett & Platt, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our Kirkland team. If you have a drive for growth, an eye for strategy, and a customer-focused attitude, this might be the right role for you. This fast-paced team in a growing industry has an in-depth knowledge of the products manufactured at Western Pneumatics and take an active role in the success of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify requirements to order materials and purchase accordingly to achieve optimal balance between purchase price, inventory holding and risk level, including evaluation of purchase strategies such as direct purchase from mills or distributors.- Negotiate with internal parties to balance desired purchases with identified requirements.
- Purchase other items or services as required, including outside services, shop materials, safety and office supplies.
- Liquidate surplus existing inventory.
- Provide quotes for materials in support of customer requested quotes.
- Generate reports regarding materials and purchases as required.
- Provide leadership to support personnel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
5 years in aerospace purchasing or supply chain management, including people management.- Ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with diverse audience including internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent phone, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel and/or other methods to analyze large varying data sets.
- Experience purchasing raw materials such as metallic sheets and coils from mills and distributors required. Specific experience relating to procuring from TMX preferred.
- Experience of multiple units of measure in a mixed manufacturing environment, such as weight, width, gauge etc.
- Experience of demand-based supply inventory planning required. Experience in ERP/MRP based purchase environments required, including strategic establishment of procurement parameters.
- Supplier negotiations experience and skills regarding purchase price, payment terms and other conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject required.
