About the role...

This role will be responsible for a variety of administrative support tasks for the Human Resources department at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and ensuring a smooth experience for candidates through their new hire journey. This role is equal parts data integrity, process optimization, and customer service.


What you’ll be doing...

  • Generates onboarding paperwork for candidates including Offer Letter, I-9 Form, Onboarding Documents, Background Check Invitation, Drug Screening Invitation, Welcome Letter, and other correspondence required to begin employment during all hiring events.
  • Reviews and retrieves background check results and drug test results, escalating concerns to the local HRBP team to make final determination for candidate clearance to hire.
  • Manages internal trackers and onboarding rosters from time of offer through orientation.
  • Acts as the department lead for New Hire Orientation support; partners with Talent Acquisition and Learning/Development teams to ensure onboarding compliance is consistence through the new hire journey.
  • Enter candidates into appropriate company systems prior to the hire date with acute attention to detail.
  • Runs and maintains reports for recruiting purposes for internal review and assessment.
  • Maintains regular, clear, customer-centered communication on onboarding progress with new hires, hiring managers and HRBPs. Includes cleared for hire, rescinded offers, general inquiries, and managing incoming and outgoing communications through the Staffing and Onboarding mailboxes.
  • Maintains integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records as this role will be regularly exposed to highly confidential information.
  • Resolves general employee issues and questions where possible or directs the individual to the appropriate member of the HR team (within People Hub or LLFR).
  • Accurately prepares all requested and scheduled reports in a timely manner.
  • Orders and ensures the appropriate amounts of supplies are continuously maintained (toner for printer, staples, etc.) in a cost-effective manner.
  • Performs clerical duties such as distributing mail, filing, scanning and calendar/event coordination.
  • Conducts and assists with new hire orientation.
  • Proposes ideas for onboarding process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Serve as member of human resources team to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the human resource function. Serves as an active and participatory member, promoting and demonstrating LEGOLAND’s and Merlin’s culture and core values through corresponding behavior and actions.

Who we’re looking for...

Previous HR/data entry knowledge/experience required. Prior HR experience in a theme park/hospitality is a plus. Knowledge of office support functions and Microsoft Office products required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). Proficiency in Excel is strongly preferred. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to take, prioritize and follow direction from multiple sources, and strong attention to detail. This position requires ability to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently, accuracy and thoroughness, monitoring own work to ensure quality, a professional interpersonal style with the ability to maintain confidentiality. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work cooperatively with diverse work styles.

Ability to utilize sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality is mandatory. Requires demonstrated skill in interpersonal relationships, making presentations, facilitation and verbal and written communication. Must be able to present a professional image to internal and external contacts and build relationships with internal team members.

Education:

A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent is required. Some college in Business, HR, or Related field preferred.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.

Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.

Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.

Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

Work Environment:

Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.

Other Job Requirements:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.

Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.

Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.


Compensation for this position is $18/hr.
