GENERAL PURPOSE
This position will operate a dock truck that transports cargo to and from specified local destinations. Size of truck is more than three (3) tons.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service
- Assist in loading, securing and unloading cargo
- Maintain radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in the schedule
- Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance and presentation
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform all job functions
- Responsible for ensuring proper inventory delivered and picked up
- Responsible for checking all inventory logs against delivered and picked up merchandise
- Must be licensed to operate a semi-truck
- Must have clear driving record
- Responsible for daily inspections of vehicle
- Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.
- Working in other areas and roles as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Safe driver with knowledge of Twin Cities area
- Good people skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and write English
Minimum Education and Experience Required :
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class A license with airbrakes experience
Special Job Requirements :
Must be available for long, varied work hours as needed
- Two years of driving experience in a similar position
- No traffic violations in the last three years
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Regular shop assembly / distribution center environment
- Will require regular ground travel to other company facilities within local metropolitan area
