Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Task Supervisor to join our Washington, D.C. team. This first line supervisor reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for carrying out a variety of operational and technical assignments in support of the HIPAA Complaint Resolution process. This includes performing legal research, gathering, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for analyzing the contents of records according to all applicable legal and policy requirements in order to make a disclosure determination under the FOIA.
Main duties include:
Supervises and directs Analysts and/or other clerical/administrative staff
Provide FOIA/PA review and processing of pending, complex FOIA cases
Scan FOIA support documents related to cases assigned into the FOIA database
Prepare documentation for, and draft responses to, FOIA/PA requests, coordinating proposed disclosures of information for several entities within the agency
Process submitter notices associated with specific FOIA cases
Provide initial analysis of submitter objections
Redact documents in accordance with agency/entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on records
Process draft responses to submitters of objections to release of information in records
Generate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determination
Maintain complete and detailed case notes on all assigned cases
Conducts administrative work associated with the disposition of health information privacy and security complaints
Perform other tasks in support of agency’s complaint resolution process
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and up to 2 years’ related FOIA work experience
Detailed experience working in Records and Information Management and Information Disclosure
Exceptional organizational, case management and time management skills
Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and its amendments
Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA requirements, rules, regulations and the process of redaction of documents.
Knowledge of reporting requirements under FOIA and the OPEN Government Act
Knowledge and experience with FOIA management systems i.e. FOIAXpress
Knowledge of FOIA exemptions
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Analytical and problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of office and network environments
Expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
Litigation support experience
High attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Excellent writing skills and oral communication skills.
