What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerospace Engineer position at Leidos Inc?
Description
Leidos is looking for engineers with an Aerospace background to support our growing work in the Eglin office. This is a technical engineering position to develop models, perform numerical analysis, develop numerical tools, and support the design of high speed weapons systems. Work directly with the organizations developing the most advanced weapons systems in the world in the high profile area of hypersonic weapons systems.
Be part of a close knit team and be mentored by world class experts. The Aerophysics group operates in a small team environment where individual creativity is rewarded and continuous learning is the norm. Our engineers typically work directly with DOD personnel and regularly interact with contracting teams from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, etc. The Destin-Fort Walton Beach-Niceville area is home to world famous beaches and a relaxed 'salt-life' lifestyle.
Apply and develop multi-fidelity computational fluid dynamics, structural dynamics and heat transfer models for the analysis of high speed weapons systems. Combine multi-disciplinary knowledge of aerodynamics, heat transfer, structures, and material science with programming ability to couple analysis tools. Develop software tools that enable advanced modeling and simulation capabilities. Examine how these weapons systems will be utilized for both offense and defense by conducting trade studies and mission analysis.
Perform trade space analysis and preliminary design on advanced weapons systems. Use your engineering knowledge to improve the design of these new weapons systems as they are being matured.
