Job Description
Leidos' Health Solutions is seeking a dynamic, mission-centric hands-on Lead Solutions Architect to support a federal agency's large, mission-critical IT Enterprise services.
The Software Tester identified for this position shall be responsible for providing technical testing support for Application Development and supporting services. The candidate must be able to provide IT solution recommendations and advise on testing improvements and testing tools/ solutions. The candidate must possess strong communications skills and the demonstrated ability to convey technical testing concepts to non-technical audiences. The candidate will be responsible for clearly communicating and engaging with the test and development teams to continuously support and move solid test-driven development principles and priorities into the work environment. The tester's support and knowledge effectively ensure the team at-large has full and complete understanding of relevant principles to enable the development team to move swiftly and smoothly to correct or change course and execute on all requirements.
This work can be completed remotely with the ability to attend key meetings with the customer in the DC office.
Local candidates preferred or within a two hour radius.
Primary Responsibilities
- Requires BS degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Jira, agile development methodologies and test-driven development.
- Ability to work in a team environment as much as staying focused when working independently with only high-level goals.
- Ability to explain technical procedures and results clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with detecting, tracking, reporting, and communicating any test defects effectively.
- Must be able to execute duties professionally, expeditiously, and successfully and be open to ad hoc tasking in support of burdened team members.
- Experience with automated and manually testing of web-based applications (e.g. Java, J2EE, JSP, technologies, including EJBs and Web Services).
- Work closely with the development team to provide testing support services that adhere to quality, SLAs, governance and technical constraints.
- Work closely with the client Program Office and other customer leadership at the most senior levels regarding application and regression testing and UAT, providing analysis assessments and user recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
- Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and 6 or more years of IT and testing experience.
- Automated testing experience
- Ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently and proactively in achieving team and individual objectives
- Must be customer focused and be comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Must have strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset
- Must be an effective verbal and written communicator, able to work with both technical and business users.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to potentially interact with senior staff in the agency and scientific community;
- Ability to work/ collaborate with different contractor and government teams as well as industry and vendors with a high level of professionalism, good judgment, and tact.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible at juggling competing priorities. Must be resourceful and independent problem solvers.
- Experience with standard system engineering lifecycle concepts, architectural frameworks, and artifacts to produce working solutions.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Experience within healthcare domain (preferably ARPA-H, FDA, NIH, or agencies in HHS) is highly preferred.

Pay Range:Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
