The Leidos Software Factory has opening for talented Senior APEX Software Engineer to come work in our state of the art facility in Mechanicsburg, PA. The responsibilities for this position will be to design, develop and implement Oracle APEX solutions for database driven application and services within a Department of Defense asset visibility and decision support application.

Responsibilities Include:

The program needs a hands on Oracle APEX Developer to build robust front end solutions. Work in a team environment to research, design, develop, and support a software system which is undergoing a modernization. The candidate needs to have at least three years (five years preferred) of extensive experience working with Oracle APEX in building comprehensive front end solutions. The candidate should also have a strong background of supporting technologies like relevant java script frameworks, Javascript, XML,JSON typically used and supported by Oracle APEX in building custom UIs. The candidate also have a strong proficiency in database development (Oracle 19c or higher). This would typically include: creating packages, procedures, functions, materialized views and complex SQL queries. The candidate also would closely work with the system architect and adhere to the team's coding standards and best practices.

This position will allow for the employee telework after obtaining approval.

• Develop robust enterprise UI applications (Oracle APEX 23.1.x or higher) and supporting technologies like Javascript, jQuery, CSS, Oracle JET, HTML, XML and JSON, based on requirements and under the guidance of SMEs and NLAC Systems Architect.

• Prepare design and development documents. Performs analysis, development and maintenance of standards.

• Setup security within APEX working closely with the Security and Architecture teams.

• Perform across the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) from concept development, design, testing, implementation, integration and deployment.

• Closely work with the test team to develop test plans and procedures to ensure comprehensive testing of the front end UI.

• Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current development methods.

• Collaborate in team environment and develop new solutions within a culture that embraces standard processes and delivery of high quality solutions.

• Cross train with team members to learn and support tasks using other related technologies.

• Support production operations as required.

• Adheres to laws, standards, established guidelines and industry best practices for development and delivery of software applications.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with about 3-6 years of related software engineering experience.

• Demonstrated Proficiency (4-6 years) in all aspects of Oracle APEX development (v23.1.x or higher). Demonstrated knowledge and use of supporting technologies (java scripting, jQuery JSON, XML,HTML etc.) to build robust user-friendly UI applications with the desired look and feel.

• Oracle Database Design and development (19c or higher) with respect to the UI Application Development. This would include: creating packages, procedures, functions, materialized views and complex SQL queries

• Proficiency in developing with Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS) and working knowledge in consuming REST APIs

• Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts

• Maintain and enforce APEX, PL/SQL, JavaScript etc. development and coding standards.

• Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to analyze issues, assess technical risks, and recommend sound solutions in a timely manner.

• Strong working knowledge of SDLC methodology.

• General knowledge of DISA STIGS and how they influence and establish best-practices within the IT environment.

• Goal oriented and self-motivated.

• Candidate must have the ability to work independently or within a team environment.

• Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to create software design and engineering documents.

• Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines is essential.

• Ability to learn, excel and deliver at a quick pace is required.

• Ability to create easy-to-follow IT documentation for work product design.

• Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

• Active DoD security clearance

• Security certification

• Experience with a version control system (e.g., SubVersion)

Clearance Required:

• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within 6 months of hire
