Leidos is hiring a Database Administrator to work with a Government-Contractor team providing support to a near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) toolset and associated to support mission requirements. This COP enables sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across multiple function areas in support of military operations. The Database Administrator will create, manage, optimize and deploy GEOINT databases onto customer hardware and software baselines, and provide expertise to enhance the performance of the GEOINT databases across the entire program, to include testing environments as well as deployed instances.

Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00

Primary Responsibilities
- Administrates organization's database, using database management system to organize and store data.
- Tests programs or databases, corrects errors and makes necessary modifications; modifies existing databases and database management systems or directs programmers and analysts to make changes.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
- Works as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determines project scope and limitations.
- Writes and codes logical and physical database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database to management system or directs others in coding descriptions.
- Trains users and answers questions; specifies users and user access levels for each segment of database.
- Approves, schedules, plans, and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases.
- Reviews project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Develops standards and guidelines for use and acquisition of software and protects vulnerable information.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience OR Master's Degree and 0 years of experience. 4 years work experience, OR Associate's Degree plus 2 years of experience, may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
- Degree in computer science, Information systems, Engineering, business or related scientific or technical discipline.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Database certifications (i.e. Oracle; SQL server etc.) or other related technical certifications.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, or PHP and Windows Power Shell or Pearl.
- Familiarity with GIS, geospatial data, and geospatial products, including Esri.
