Leidos | Gibbs and Cox is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the Washington, D.C. area. We are seeking a candidate to work with our engineering and production teams as we develop and produce cutting-edge solutions to challenging defense-related problems. This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Program Manager for the PMS 400D engineering and administrative support contract, and interfaces daily with the DDG 51 Ship Design Manager.
Location: This is a hybrid remote position. Candidate will work 2-3 days per week onsite at our Washington DC office.
Primary Responsibilities
Performing calculations, applying electrical engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria to address technical issues identified during the design and engineering of US Navy ships
Communicating technical principles directly to client
Performing quality assurance reviews of simple analyses, calculations, and drawings
Recording and tracking action items and meeting minutes
Creating and managing meeting invites
Review change proposals to ensure they meet the necessary specifications and requirements
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required and must be able to obtain a US Government Security clearance
B.S. Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
1 Years of Electrical Engineering experience on US Navy or Commercial Naval vessels
Experience with Shipyard Production Systems, shipboard medium and low voltage power systems, 60 Hz and 400Hz electrical plant, and Power Conversion is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in standard electrical system design and analysis
Proficiency in standard software e.g.: CAD, AutoCAD, and Rhino. Proficiency in ETAP and other electrical modeling software is a plus.
Knowledge of MIL Standards and Specifications is a plus
U.S. Navy experience is a plus
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PowerPoint
Outstanding Oral, Written and Presentation Skills
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Pay Range:Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
