The Leidos National Security Sector has an exciting opportunity in Washington, DC and Reston, VA. The Lead Network Lab Engineer will be part of an elite team of IT professionals to helping maintain and secure the enterprise environment for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer.
Our focus is to help the organization technically transform is current services by leading edge technology insertions. To accomplish this, we are charges with development of new designs, its implementation, and operation of the new and or enhanced services. Over the life of the contract, we will drive continual service improvement by tech modernization, for our (LANs), wide area networks (WAN), unified communication (UC), Video telecommunication and Streaming services.
Primary Responsibilities
Work on a team to build and maintain the lab in good working order.
Ensure patches and upgrades all of lab systems to include administrative support systems like AD and vCenter.
Ensure that Lab is ready to always support customer mission.
Installs, reinstalls, configures operating systems and software.
Lead lab technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware and software and integration testing.
Ensure CM of lab configurations to support a variety of test configurations at various stages of implementation.
Assists with development of network-related implementation and deployment documentation.
Tests and evaluates network designs to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Support development of testing aids for validating lab configurations or systems in the lab
Assists with testing and documentation for products/solutions/systems being tested.
Works under limited supervision
Lead research and testing of new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability.
Supports engineers or other staff in the design or implementation of new solutions.
Lead validation of lab environment disaster recovery plans.
Basic Qualifications
Requires Bachelor of Science and 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure hardware, software, operating systems, and related tools are key to success in this role.
Experience in Tier 2 support
Hold a DoD Approved 8570 Level IAT II Certification, CCNP or equivalent
Must have TS/SCI clearance with a poly
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or exposure supporting Intelligence Community programs
