Leidos is seeking a Linux/Unix Engineer with expertise in operating systems and server hardware to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft Meade, MD.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. This role will lead server engineering to support the discovery analysis and design activities required to migrate common IT services from over twenty large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. Leidos needs the best talent in the industry to accommodate the size, scope, and com
plexity of this effort. A successful candidate will be technically well-rounded, producing quality work with special attention to the right details.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
•Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
•Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the pre-migration activities necessary to close gaps
•Forecast backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
•Design solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types server-based applications based on Linux, and VMware operating systems.
•Optimize end-to-end system performance and migration workflows.
•Conduct data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information.
•Define migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community.
•Establish migration plans for complex n-tier applications and services.
•Gather needed data to forecast long-term capacity and performance requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
•Proficiency with enterprise-class server-based services such as: directory services, collaboration tools, monitoring tools, and virtual infrastructure.
•DoD IAT Level II (Security ) certification or equivalent is required prior to start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Consulting firm experience is highly desirable.
•Strong knowledge of networking, storage, cyber, and data center facilities.

Pay Range: Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00
