The job duties of the Microsoft Solutions Architect are as follows:
- Develop, plan, implement and manage solutions for the following Microsoft infrastructure:
- Active Directory (AD) Roles, Sites, and Services
- Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
- Domain Name System (DNS) Services
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Services
- Network Time Protocol (NTP) Services
- File and Print Services (Shared home directories, roaming profiles, and distributed file systems)
- AD security
- Windows backup and restoration
- Auditing and security policies, procedures, technologies, and tools to support audit requirements.
- VMWare virtualized environments and technologies
- AD application integration methods and tools (single-sign-on)
- Certificate infrastructure
- Remote access technologies (Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Citrix, VMWare) and integration
- High availability and disaster recovery (load balancing, clustering, etc.)
- Program thin/thick client infrastructure
- Develop System Design Documents (SDDs), architecture diagrams, system and software build documentation, installation guidelines, test plans, and other core architecture documentation
- Report Windows infrastructure status updates to program leads and key stakeholders
- Lead other administrators/engineers in project meetings to meet project deliverables within scope and budget
REQUIREMENTS
- TS SCI with Poly
- Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a doctorate and 8 years of experience OR master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associate and 14 years or HS and 16 years. Must meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification requirements. Required qualifications include the following:
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) information security requirements, standards, and best practices; DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACP) compliancy with Retina, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA) patch management
- Must be able to process and analyze information and trouble calls submitted by a customer (e.g., system administrator, developer, security specialist), make determinations, and provide and implement solutions
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision to perform complex technical tasks and lead others effectively
- Possess strong writing skills required for preparing documentation and other technical deliverables
- Experience with automated testing
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel
- Minimum ten years of system administrator infrastructure planning experience
- Microsoft server certifications
- Knowledge of containers such as Docker
- Automation background with Ansible or other tools
