Leidos is seeking a QA Receiving Inspector - Inbound Goods to join the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) Operation. The Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team has developed a suite of integrated solutions for aviation, ports, borders, and critical infrastructure customers around the world. We provide automated threat detection for weapons, narcotics, explosives, contraband, and undeclared goods, as well as nuclear and radioactive materials, by leveraging industry leading screening technologies, AI/ML capabilities and advanced biometric tools. We have more than 24,000 products deployed across 120 countries, including best-in-class security checkpoint and inspection systems for people, checked baggage and more.
The QA Receiving Inspector works under limited supervision and usually acting independently, performs a wide variety of received goods inspection tasks. The QA receiving inspector is responsible for the inspection and receipt of incoming goods. The job holder will be based in the Warehouse at the Vista, CA facility and will work with the Vista Warehouse, Supply chain, and Manufacturing teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the planning and receipt of incoming parts
- Basic Inspection
- Inspection against drawings
Basic Inspection
- Receiving parts.
- Visual Inspection.
- Inspect part against goods receive note and purchase order.
- Check quantity of parts delivered against what has been ordered.
- Check quality of parts delivered, ensuring nothing has been damaged.
- Disposition - Transact part to Cost point.
If part(s) are damaged, disposition the part into quarantine location and agree a course of action with the person who has placed the order. This could include acceptance of the part under concession, local rework or return to the supplier.
Enhanced Inspection
- Receive parts
- Visual Inspection.
- Inspect part against goods receive note and purchase order
- Check quantity of parts delivered
- Check quality of parts delivered, ensuring nothing has been damaged
- Inspect part against drawing
- Transact part to Costpoint
If part(s) are damaged, disposition the part into quarantine location and agree a course of action with the person who has placed the order. This could include acceptance of the part under concession, local rework or return to the supplier.
Quality Performance
Maintain records of parts delivered and produce regular quality metrics
- On time delivery performance.
- Correct quality
- Correct quantity
MRB / NCRB
Key member of the Material Review Board (MRB), providing statistical data on parts delivered.
Continuous improvement
Participate in continuous improvement activities and make recommendations to improve service delivery.
Required Qualification (Education & Experience):
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and obtain other clearances (e.g.; secret clearance) as needed (US citizenship required).
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) training to understand engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience with completing inspections and product sampling plans.
- Understanding of Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) practices and IPC related standards for printed circuit boards (PCBs)
- Familiarity of wide range of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can work well will internal customers / external Suppliers.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
- Knowledge of Technical Drawing both electrical and mechanical will be a requirement.
- Team player with ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously and independently.
- May be required from time to time to lift heavy weights.
- Relevant work experience in a Quality Inspection/ Goods Inward Inspection role.
- Proficient statistical analysis skills – Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability (Cpk), Control Charting (Imr, XbarR).
- Working knowledge of Quality Data and Quality Data systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in electro-mechanical systems
- Knowledge of x-ray systems
- Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Microsoft office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Prefer Lean Six Sigma certification – White / Yellow belt.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $37,050.00 - $66,975.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
