What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant/Paralegal position at Leitman Siegal & Payne P.c.?

Requirements/Experience

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel,

Dropbox, etc.

  • E-file/serve documents in federal court and state court and record documents in probate court and communicate with various clerks of court
  • Perform legal research (e.g., Lexis public records, UCC searches, etc.)
  • Maintain client files
  • Order typical due diligence items such as lien/tax record searches, litigation searches, probate records, etc.
  • Organize and manage multiple matters
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, assisting with billing, maintaining calendars, greeting clients, etc.
  • Experience working in Juris a plus

Qualifications

  • A degree in paralegal studies, NALA paralegal certification, or a bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Alternatively, at least five (5) years of commensurate experience working as a legal assistant in litigation and/or estate planning & administration
  • Preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education
