What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant/Paralegal position at Leitman Siegal & Payne P.c.?
Requirements/Experience
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel,
Dropbox, etc.
- E-file/serve documents in federal court and state court and record documents in probate court and communicate with various clerks of court
- Perform legal research (e.g., Lexis public records, UCC searches, etc.)
- Maintain client files
- Order typical due diligence items such as lien/tax record searches, litigation searches, probate records, etc.
- Organize and manage multiple matters
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, assisting with billing, maintaining calendars, greeting clients, etc.
- Experience working in Juris a plus
Qualifications
- A degree in paralegal studies, NALA paralegal certification, or a bachelor’s degree preferred
- Alternatively, at least five (5) years of commensurate experience working as a legal assistant in litigation and/or estate planning & administration
- Preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education
