Lenders Cooperative is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Associate specializing in loan accounting to join our dynamic accounting/finance team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting with a focus on loan accounting processes. A strong foundation in financial reconciliations, GAAP accounting, proficiency in accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The Accounting Associate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that loan transactions are processed and reconciled in accordance with our company’s policies and procedures.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily loan accounting activities, including recording, classifying, and reconciling loan transactions.
  • Perform complex reconciliations of all loan accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Process loan payments, adjustments, and related financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with the lending department to resolve any discrepancies in loan accounting records.
  • Use accounting software to input data, generate reports, and conduct analyses.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the accounting team with special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) to create spreadsheets, charts, and presentations that aid in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to stay current with industry practices and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, emphasizing loan accounting.
  • Candidates with experience in a bank or lender are preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, emphasizing Excel.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
