Job Duties and Tasks
- Operate assigned precision CNC machinery. Have knowledge and flexibility to operate different types of machines as necessary.
- Set up the machines as directed by the blueprint.
- Review screen pages and machine operation to detect minor programming issues.
- Consistently meet output expectations and efficiency requirements.
- Work with supervisor to recommend process improvements to resolve manufacturing issues or to help improve cycle time.
- Receive process traveler and verify revisions match on all paperwork.
- Receive material and load bar feeder or fixture, as necessary.
- Checks parts for accuracy according to inspection plan and part specifications.
- Verify the correct program is running on the machine and revision matches traveler.
- Red tag units that are out of specification (OOS) and submit to the Quality Department or Department Manager for review.
- Observe line clearance procedures.
- Ensure work area, machine, tooling, and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil.
- Maintain quality and acceptable production outputs.
- Perform daily and routine preventive maintenance on assigned machine based on established standards.
- Offset the machine to the blueprint for part conformance as needed.
- Replace tooling at the machine when required.
- Attend all assigned meetings
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Competencies :
- Three to Five years of machinist experience required, preferably within a medical device company.
- Exposure to ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 as it relates to the job.
- Time management, prioritization and organization skills.
- Knowledge of testing equipment, statistical methods and control plans.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High School or equivalent.
- English communication skills a must.
- Ability to read Blueprints.
- Required knowledge of basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and algebra.
- Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently - achieving customer and quality objectives.
- Skilled in working independently, following through with assignments with minimal direction.
