The Esthetics Instructor – Continuing Education (Part-time) is responsible for teaching theory, labs, and practical, using mannequins and live models. The instructor will follow structured lesson plans to ensure students meet attendance requirements and the successful completion of various practical performance evaluations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
NC Esthetician Instructor or Cosmetology Instructor license is required Previous teaching experience at a community college or private institution is preferredApplicant should have at least two years of work experience as a licensed esthetician or cosmetologistKnowledge of current NC Cosmetic Board regulations and requirements for educational institutions is required Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Teaching experience at a community college preferred Must have excellent organizational and communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferredWorking ConditionsTypical classroom or online teaching environmentFrequent standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, withstanding frequent changes in temperatureFrequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing and pullingInfrequent lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs. without assistanceFrequent travel between buildings on campus and infrequent travel to other campusesFrequent listening to and talking with students and other faculty and staff membersInfrequent sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouseExposure to fire and chemical hazard
