Editorial Content Manager
Lenovo Global Product Education is looking for an Editorial Content Manager to create, edit, improve, and maintain content to achieve organizational business goals.
In this role, the Editorial Content Manager will oversee the organization’s content in all forms, evaluating it against learning design principles, stakeholder requirements, and editorial standards. You must be an excellent communicator, skilled in conveying feedback to your colleagues as well as evaluating appropriate content for large-scale audiences. As a content curator, you own ISO 9000 Compliance standards documentation, the editorial style guide, course writing style guides, Lenovo branding, and Alliance Partnership guidelines. As an experienced mentor, you’ll work with writers and instructional designers to optimize content for audience, style, tone, and learning. You will complete cross-functional projects, managing relationships and taking ownership of the end-to-end process while working with internal and external stakeholders. The Editorial Content Manager will implement change in the organization, working in a fast-paced environment to promote consistency across teams and assets. This role also oversees messaging to learners and customers through newsletters, LMS Channels, LGPE SharePoint sites, and gamification initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Creates, maintains, and updates organization style guides and reference materials for all content creation
- Edits all assets for grammar, style, branding, and adherence to learning objectives
- Ensures quality of published materials through implementation reviews
- Mentors writers and instructional designers on written design elements and general writing best practices through meaningful feedback, as well as group and one-on-one meetings
- Writes and designs technical documentation, reference guides, e-learning courses, scripts, user guides, job aids, and other assets as needed
- Designs, evaluates, and updates templates as needed for job aids, reference guides, and more
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to complete cross-functional projects, managing the process from end to end
- Serves as Lenovo branding expert for team and oversees consistent use across all applicable materials, as well as staying up to date
- Partners with Alliance funding manager to create documentation for team and oversees consistent use across all applicable materials, working with third-party representatives to ensure accuracy
- Assists with information distribution to learners through LMS Channel Posts, newsletters, and gamification initiatives
- Oversees creation and updates of ISO 9000 Compliance Documents, establishing an update cadence and managing the update process
- Creates surveys for a variety of audiences and compiles data for actionable steps towards achieving organizational goals
- Creates graphics and visual design elements for various assets as needed
- Initiates and hosts lunch-and-learns to review content changes, update teams on new guidelines, and provide instruction on appropriate topics
- Manages creation and updates of internal SharePoint websites
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field
- 7 years writing and editing experience
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Familiarity with adult eLearning best practices
- Knowledge and ability to write and edit training content
- High level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability
- Exceptional written communication skills
- A passion for creating engaging and effective learning experiences
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Survey Monkey
- Familiarity with Articulate 360 suite of products
- Practiced ability to manage a project from kickoff to completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating and maintaining a house style guide
- Working knowledge of AP style
- Familiarity with Photoshop and basic graphics editing
- Experience working with globally dispersed teams
- Basic understanding of modern technology and computers
