What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Leola Construction?
We are an organization providing accounting services and support for multiple construction companies. We are seeking an experienced construction controller to become an integral part of our team. Reporting to the CFO with some guidance from the Corporate Controller, you will oversee the financial activities of two or more companies. To be considered you must have experience in the construction industry with both job cost and accounting experience. Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail are also a must in this high-volume environment. The ability to adapt and change with the workflow is essential as well. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with A/R and A/P departments to ensure weekly reporting is accurate and timely.
- Create and update crew and equipment roster weekly.
- Review weekly disbursements to subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and employees including wires and direct deposits.
- Review billing compared with estimates and act as backup as necessary.
- Review AR weekly, and assist in collections, reconciliation, and/or bad debt analysis and reporting.
- Process inter-company and shared services transactions.
Manage month-end close:
- Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process WIP reports to identify earned revenue.
- Prepare and process journal entries subsequent of approval.
- Create a Jobs workbook by dimension identifying profitability with actuals compared with estimates.
- Balance sheet account reconciliation
- Create financial workbooks including Balance Sheet, Income Statement with history and comparatives, graphs, AR, AP, Trial Balance, and any other supporting documentation.
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting.
- Fixed asset monitoring.
Participation:
- Assist in the development and implement workflow controls. Identify weaknesses in our processes.
- Assist in the improvement of software programs.
- Attend and influence meetings.
- Assist in any audits including insurance.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business and/or corporate accounting. Construction accounting experience a must.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax filing and reporting requirements.
- Strong aptitude and operational skills in accounting software.
- Strong aptitude and operational skills in MS Office software.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal structures.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to meet all assigned deadlines.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
