What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Worker position at LEP?
We are looking for a reliable Construction Worker / Laborer for a growing construction company. The candidate will work on residential and commercial renovation and maintenance projects. You will be responsible for hands on work and must have basic tools and transportation.
Responsibilities
- General Carpentry and Construction duties including, but not limited to: Carpentry, Wall Framing, Door Framing, Door and Hardware Installation, Finish Carpentry, Drywall, Painting, Concrete, Rigging, Pipping Equipment Setting and Heavy Equipment Operation
- Assist tradesman on construction sites such as bricklayers, demolition experts, drywallers, cement finishers, and roofers.
- Unload and load materials, erect concrete forms and ramps, mix and pour materials such as concrete, and assist in drilling and blasting.
- Assist construction site workers in erecting structures and demolition.
- Distribute materials.
- Erect concrete forms and scaffolding.
- Level concrete and earth using trowels and shovels.
- Remove debris.
- The maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and other company property.
- Wears and maintains proper safety equipment as required.
- Push, pull, and load/unload tools, equipment, and materials.
- Carries and uses trade associated tools, equipment, and materials up to a weight of 95 pounds.
- Working at heights as necessary to the job also within confined or enclosed spaces. Additional duties assigned by supervisor.
Skills
- Proven working experience in carpentry and residential construction / renovation.
- Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to integrate all tasks and responsibilities of the role in an organized and controlled manner.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks including drug screenings.
- Carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical knowledge.
- Have a sense of urgency with all tasks and be able to meet deadlines.
- Must have physical ability to stoop, stand, climb, crouch, reach / bend forward at the waist, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
- Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing.
- Capable of passing a drug screening, physical evaluation, and background screenings in accordance with State and Federal Regulations.
- Ability to travel as needed and work hours as required by project.
- Superior attendance and punctual arrival time.
- A team and goal-oriented mentality, respectful of others with a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
