What are the responsibilities and job description for the CIP I Operator position at Leprino Foods?
Short & Sweet: This position requires responsibility for cleaning and sanitation of all cheese making equipment in the HTST, Vat and CIP rooms.
Hours: 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM
Weekends & Holidays required
GENERAL OUTLINE OF DUTIES (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following outline of duties satisfactorily. This is only a sampling of responsibility as other duties will be assigned.)
- Follow CIP (Clean In Place) procedure for each piece of equipment and set up for production within allotted time
- Monitor several factors to ensure a proper CIP process: flow, temperature, time, pressure, chemical concentration and visual inspection
- Transfer flowverter connections from production to CIP position and back
- Lockout equipment as required
- Hose down floor and equipment with water and also with a foam sanitation solution
- Gather chemicals needed from chemical room wearing appropriate PPE
- Document times, temperatures and strengths of each CIP accurately on the Daily Chemical Strength Log and appropriate recording charts
- Conduct gasket control program
- Perform pre-start up inspections
- Operate floor scrubber to clean floors
- Write maintenance work orders
- Communicate quality concerns to the Quality Execution Department
- Any additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
General Experience/Educational Background
Minimum
- Able to read and write
- Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Frequent climbing of stairs/ladders and walking
- Frequent bending and reaching
Preferred
- Prior sanitation experience in a food environment/industry
