Whey Bagging Operator 2nd/ 3rd shift 1

Summary:

The Whey Bagging Operator is responsible for safe operation of the whey bagging line in accordance with standard operating procedures while monitoring the quality of the outgoing product. Our skilled operators are expected to develop an expert level knowledge on the functioning and troubleshooting for their machine and/or area.

Schedule:

• This position is for 1st/2nd shift, but may require availability on other hours as needed.
• Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary.

Pay Rate:

• $24.08 per hour
• $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 3:00pm-6:00am
• $0.50 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday

Responsibilities:

• Operate bagger equipment efficiently according to SOP's.
• Monitor whey powder and packaged product quality.
• Conduct hourly scale checks and metal detector checks.
• Reconcile bag/pallet weights Complete daily checklists.
• Enter data into MES.
• Complete paperwork accurately.
• Communicate effectively.
• Maintain a clean work area according to GMP practices.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner complying with all applicable safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

• Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.

• Must be willing and able to work in hot, humid environments.

• Must have a demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy.

• Must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• This position requires the ability to utilize basic math skills and read in order to follow a checklist.

  
  
• Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.

Preferred skills:

• Prior food industry experience.
• Prior manufacturing experience.

Physical Demands & Environment:

• This position will be exposed to a production operation environment. Industrial setting includes dry production areas with loud noise and varying degress of temperature.
• Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
• The operator works in a warm, dusty environment with considerable noise where they repeatedly lift 50 pound bags.
• Frequent walking and standing.
• Climbing upstairs/ladders, bending, squatting, and reaching required.
