My client seeks a Field Audio Video Engineer to continue developing our growth and prestige.
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is expected to be a contributing member of the Engineering Team.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate the operation, maintenance, repair, and testing of equipment and systems in the field installations
- Analyze contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop program activities throughout the project life cycle
- Coordinate and perform the design, testing, and installation of equipment and systems in field installations
- Work with control system programmers for finalizing GUI and control system programming.
- Write Digital Signal Processing (DSP) files for audio visual systems.
- Load firmware, device software, control code, and setup & commission systems.
- Oversee and conduct tests to evaluate hazards
- Coordinate the preparation of detailed AV engineering packages, including specifications, drawings, and technical documents for the client
- Provide planning and coordination of work activity and training of technical staff
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design (AutoCAD) and Bluebeam software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Provide advice and guidance towards resolving problems and meeting performance and financial objectives
- May lead or coordinate complex task/project teams of in-house or onsite technical personnel
- Implement quality AV technology solutions to ensure effective and economical support for products, systems or equipment
- Participate in studies to identify alternative design approaches and implications thereof to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
- Devise and conduct appropriate tests to evaluate, debug and verify system performance/ functionality for customer signoff/project acceptance
- Document the results of complex analysis and design tasks
- Capture redlines to system drawings for generating As-Build documentation
- Participate in the preparation of information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and project time
- Report to office and/or customer sites for commissioning of systems as required
- 4-year degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent specialized AV technical training and experience
- 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, installing, setting up, and testing complex AV systems
- Demonstrated skills and understanding of engineering AV technologies and environments including projection displays, video teleconferencing, complex audio systems, control systems, and switching systems
- AVIXA (formerly InfoComm International) Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D)
- Most projects are within the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. Out of town travel may be required for up to 50%.
