We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Engineer with a Hydrology & Hydraulic background to join our multi-disciplinary water resources team in the San Antonio, TX office.
We are in search of an Entry-Level Hydrology & Hydraulic Engineer with an emphasis on analysis and design skills to complete a wide variety of challenging and complex hydrologic, hydraulic, and design projects. Potential projects include floodplain mapping; restoration of floodplain connectivity; design, capital improvement design, certification and inspection of levees; dam safety (probable maximum flood analysis, dam break analysis, inundation mapping and preparation of emergency action plans); river and floodplain restoration; watershed management; and preparation of Plans Specifications and Estimates for water resources projects.
Primary clients include local municipalities, local cities, Tribes, and government agencies including county flood control districts, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, States of Texas and New Mexico, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Forest Service, and the Bureau of Reclamation.
Job Responsibilities:

Work with a multidisciplinary team including geomorphologists, biologists, economists and planners; as well as other hydraulic and water resources engineers

Perform hydraulic modelling and hydraulic design of facilities including levees, channels, in-stream and floodplain restoration features such as levee setbacks, culverts/bridges, bioengineered bank protection measures, grade controls, and spillways

Perform hydrologic analyses to support water resources projects

Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydraulic analyses to support water resources projects
-
Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects
-
Prepare construction plans, specifications, design reports, quantity take-offs and cost- estimating documents

Attend client and technical meetings
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field). A Master’s Degree with specialization in hydraulics is preferred but not required

Up to 5 years of experience in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, and hydrology
-
Experience with 1-D steady and unsteady hydraulic modeling, experience with 2-D hydraulic modeling a plus
-
Experience with hydrologic modeling and analysis as well as statistical analysis of flow record
-
Experience with ArcGIS
-
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or MicroStation
-
Solid technical writing and communication skills
