Launched in 2019, we sell to the trade only producing and distributing framed art prints to the interior design and furnishings industries. In addition to our 100,000 sf headquarters located in the trendy Upper Westside, we also maintain two additional trade showrooms. **Position Summary:**
As an Artist Resourcer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the artistic community by identifying, engaging, and managing relationships with talented artists across various mediums. Your primary responsibility will be to source, evaluate, and onboard artists to ensure a diverse and skilled pool of creative talent for our organization. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between artists and internal teams to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Artist Sourcing:** Utilize various channels such as online platforms, art communities, events, and networking to identify and attract talented artists.
2. **Evaluation and Selection:** Assess artists' portfolios, skills, and suitability for specific projects or collaborations. Maintain a keen eye for quality, originality, and alignment with organizational goals.
3. **Onboarding:** Guide artists through the onboarding process, including contract negotiation, paperwork completion, and orientation to organizational processes and expectations.
4. **Relationship Management:** Foster positive and long-term relationships with artists by providing support, feedback, and opportunities for growth. Act as the primary point of contact for artist inquiries and concerns.
5. **Database Management:** Maintain an organized database of artists, including contact information, portfolio samples, project history, and relevant notes to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.
6. **Collaboration Facilitation:** Coordinate with internal teams such as project managers, marketing, and legal departments to facilitate smooth collaboration between artists and other stakeholders.
7. **Talent Development:** Identify opportunities for artists' professional development, such as workshops, training programs, or mentorship opportunities, and facilitate their participation.
8. **Market Research:** Stay informed about industry trends, emerging artists, and competitor activities to continuously improve artist recruitment strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Arts Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in artist management, talent acquisition, or related roles within the creative industry.
- Strong understanding of various art forms, styles, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using artist management software or databases is preferred.
- Passion for supporting and promoting artists' careers and creativity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
