Compensation: $15 - $23 / hour (including tips)
Position Description:
As a barback, you are the backbone of the FOH operation, ensuring bartender’s have everything they need to serve great drinks and hangs, while also ensuring the venue remains tidy / cleaned as you float through. Also key to the role is providing guests with a great experience whenever you interface with them - getting a smile or a chat from a barback is a hidden bonus that adds to a patron’s experience and makes the backyard such an inviting atmosphere!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, disposables, etc.
- Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
- Checking in with and greeting guests when appropriate
- Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs, or changing out kegs, if needed.
- Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing trash,, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes.
- Follows sanitation guidelines for washing, rinsing and sanitizing all surfaces and equipment
- Helps unload and organize deliveries.
- Sweeps and mops floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
- Takes out trash and rinses garbage cans.
- Supports other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
- Maintains a positive attitude and ability to work in a busy work environment.
- Must wear closed toed and non-slip shoes, pull back all loose hair, and be trained in the basics of food safety.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons, communicate with MOD, follow directions, show up on time and be a team player.
