Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure a safe and comfortable transition for patients as they recover from surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels
- Assess patients' pain levels and administer appropriate pain management interventions
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations to assess patients' post-operative condition
- Administer medications, including injections, as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist in the coordination of patient discharge planning and follow-up care
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of DE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or critical care setting
- Proficiency in administering injections and performing physical examinations
- Strong knowledge of case management principles and practices
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures is preferred
- Excellent assessment skills and ability to triage patient care needs effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
