Job Title: Paint Booth Helper/assistant* Departments: *Sheet Metal, Forest Pkwy, Shelton, CT

Summary: The Paint Booth Helper/assistant is responsible for supporting production, quality, manufacturing engineering and maintenance by setting up and powder coat finished and in process parts. Once powder coated the paint booth helper will run an industrial oven to cure the powder paint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The technical aspects will include but are not limited to:

• Help initiate proper set up procedures to powder coating various metal parts.
• Process parts to ensure these are properly clean and meet surface cleanest requirements.
• Operate spray gun in spray booth as required.
• Operate and/or attend Paint booth equipment to coat or paint any of a wide variety of products.
• Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
• Use good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through.
• Read blue prints, job order traveler, job order pick list and interpret shop drawings.
• Use hand tools as required.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Perform hand and wrist assembly involving repetitive motion.
• Repair and rework coted or painted parts as required.
• Follow and adhere to all company and departmental procedures and policies.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment (may require sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal)
• Communicate with managers, peers, and subordinates on a routine basis.
• Timely and accurately complete documentation and electronically daily labor in Floor Manager.
• Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
• Use good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through.
• Provide input to help improve the performance of the department.
• Maintain a good attendance record in order to complete work assignments.
• Perform tasks while complying with company safety policies.
• Work overtime when needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and other manufacturing information.
• Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in metric and English units of measure.
• Skilled in handling products that needs quality and process standards.
• Prior experience operating paint booth equipment or similar equipment preferred.
• Competence in safely and effectively using hand tools.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills with the ability to team with others.
• Basic math skills in order to complete job tasks.
• Practical problem solving ability.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment and work assignments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted throughout the day.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
