Position Summary
A Sheeter is responsible for sheeting buildings and roofs. This position is deemed safety sensitive due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee s co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Spreads screws and/or welds metal sheets of steel for floor or roof decking and on sides of buildings.
- Flash and trim buildings with reasonable ease.
- Lay out sheeting for cutting to appropriate sizes.
- Handle sheets on the ground and secure sheets on walls and roof.
- Performs the functions as a Structural Ironworker.
- Responsible for adhering to the company safety and QA/QC programs, as well as OSHA rules and regulations.
- Use electrical tools such as screw guns, nibblers, and shears to secure sheets on buildings and roofs.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years experience as a sheeter and/or ironworker is required. Must have a tape measure, vise grips, crescent wrenches (10 and 12 ), tin snip (left/right) and a tool belt.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift <100 lbs. frequently and be able to climb <300 ft. Must have ability to bend, stoop, carry, push and pull frequently. Must be able to pull own weight to climb stairs, ladders, etc. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, loud noises, and in a dusty environment with high voltage electromagnetic fields around.
