Leyman General Laborer/Apprentice
Leyman Manufacturing is a family owned manufacturer of truck liftgates that was incorporated in 1940. We are a small growing company that believes in hiring, training and internally promoting enthusiastic mechanically inclined candidates that are willing to learn about the manufacture and operation of our liftgate products. If you like to work with your hands and enjoy building/assembling/fixing equipment and machines we want to talk to you!
The candidate that fills this position will be assisting in all aspects of the production process- building pallets, banding/shrink wrapping LTL parcels, performing liftgate inspections, assembling liftgates and power units, assisting with Liftgate & Leyvador installations and performing steel fabrication/welding . Salary is negotiable depending on skills & experience and on the job training and tuition reimbursement programs are available for this entry level position.
Job Requirements
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Must have reliable transportation and demonstrate good attendance patterns.
- Be willing to "work on your feet" for a full 8 hour shift in a non climate controlled environment
Pluses
- Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of electric and electrical systems
- Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems
- MIG/Tack Welding experience/training- A HUGE Plus!
- Prior shipping/packing/picking experience with industrial equipment parts or heavy equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift and willingness to become licensed in the operation of PIT equipment
- Military experience
