LGC Biosearch Technologies is seeking a NGS Services Scientist to join our rapidly growing NGS Services Team at our site in Middleton, WI. This individual will have prior experience with have prior experience with NGS or lab services in a manufacturing setting. The NGS Services Scientist will provide technical expertise in one or more areas of focus for NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) Services including experimental design; sample receipt, accessioning and management; material management; project management; laboratory operations and analysis and delivery of high-quality data to the customer, including internal sequencing support to QC and R&D.
This role will be regularly based out of the company's site in Middleton, WI.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:
- Performs NGS Services activities in a manner consistent with LGC-Lucigen’s ISO 13485 quality systems; independently performs assigned duties in these areas
- Processes, records, and analyzes data following approved protocols and using good documentation practices
- Effectively communicates results to the LGC-Lucigen team
- Plans, schedules, and manages assigned functions and Service Projects to meet the business plan and customer requirements
- Identifies process improvement opportunities based on first-hand observation and data review
- Develops and conducts studies and follows protocols supporting process improvements, investigations, and corrective/preventative actions
- Delivers high-quality documentation consistent with LGC-Lucigen’s quality systems
- Conscientiously learns requirements of the ISO 13485 quality management system and diligently follows the terms of a quality contract, which describes the relevance and importance of the employee’s work to the achievement of LGC’s quality objectives (delete where not applicable)
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences field (molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, etc.) with 2 years’ experience in a biotech, molecular diagnostics, or Agri-genomics setting
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a fast-paced, dynamic and team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated experience in molecular biology/NGS manufacturing and/or laboratory services, preferably in an ISO-registered business
- Experience constructing and evaluating NGS libraries required
- Effective communication skills with technical staff and peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DNA extraction, specifically from plant samples
- Experience operating and maintaining Illumina sequencing instruments, specifically the NextSeq 550
- Experience with laboratory automation, e.g. liquid handling instruments
- Experience using ERP systems

Pay: From $62,000.00 per year
