Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Novato-based Warehouse Supervisor is a dedicated and reliable individual delegated to personally handling goods-in activities and relevant operations in the Novato facility, to include assigned projects of addressing and further developing the growing needs of LGC Biosearch’s supply chain management and organization therein as outlined by ISO 9001 and 13485 GMP standards.

About the Role:

The Warehouse Supervisor would primarily work independently, focusing on tasks involving Biosearch’s warehouse processes, organization and inventory managements therein.

• Develop and provide direct management support to all Novato-based Receiving activities and related staff.
• Work within a Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment, supporting guidelines to uphold GMP and ISO 13485 standards, as required.
• Provide process and administrative support for Petaluma-based Receiving activities.
• Develop and provide direct management support to Petaluma-based Receiving (Goods-In) and Warehouse Inventory staff, working in tandem with the Novato site Receiving staff.
• Develop and provide direct management support to Petaluma-based Receiving (Goods-In) staff, working in tandem with the Novato site Receiving & Warehouse staff.
• Identify and address areas of opportunity involving purchased and manufactured goods, as well as initiate and implement solution designs pertaining to the Receiving processes and process flows bringing in said goods for use by various internal customers.
• Oversee stockroom inventory and ordering requests, adhering to Lean and FIFO inventory management practices.
• Responsible for developing inventory tracking systems, managing levels of supplies, and performing regular analyses thereof.
• Initiate and implement robust cycle counting functionalities.
• Work daily with cross-functional teams, including EHS, Facilities, Procurement, Production, Material Handling, and Operations.
• Support Quality Control and Assurance in the release of inbound materials
• Manage the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse and production floor inventory shelving areas to meet 5S and OSHA standards.
• Ensures that relevant equipment is utilized and maintained in the most efficient manner.
• Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with both internal & external customers.
• Stocking inventory to their assigned locations using manual and barcode scanning methods.
• Develop supply chain Lean methods, and proactively work to resolve bottlenecks.
• Create, update, and/or modify existing SOP documentation to see that the Inventory and Receiving processes are in line with the needs of the business.
• Management of direct reports to include interviewing, coaching, and delegation.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Travel Requirements – occasional travel between Petaluma & Novato sites, with mileage expensed.
• Schedule/Core Hours – Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with potential for added hours as the workload requires. As an Exempt (salaried) position, overtime pay is not included.
• Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy
• Heavy use of ERP, MES, and desktop work.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of goods-in management
• 1 years of staff management
• High School degree or equivalent
• Regular use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
• Use of a web browser.
• ERP system familiarity; FMP and/or IFS a plus

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work

• Daily use of computers in an ERP setting
• Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques

• Able to lift 40lbs.
• Kanban familiarity
• HAZWOPER certification a bonus
• Forklift familiarity recommended, certification a bonus
• Warehouse environment experience a bonus

Working Conditions:

• Work environment – Primarily a warehouse setting with manufacturing and office exposure.
• Extreme Conditions – The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Climate-controlled storage units are also utilized, with cold-weather gear available on demand as defined in our company safety & PPE policies.
• Protective Clothing Required – steel-toe shoes, hearing, and eye protection, as provided and defined in our company safety & PPE policies.
• Potential injuries or illnesses – Though guided and defined in our company safety & PPE policies, employees will receive OSHA-approved training.
• Handling of hazardous waste – This role has occasional handling of hazardous chemicals. The employee receives initial hazardous waste management training when hired to a position that requires managing hazardous waste. Annual refresher training is provided every year he or she remains in that position.
• Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions and specific personnel training for employees working with hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
