Large privately held distribution company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their growing team.
Reporting to the Director Corporate Accounting, the Manager, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for managing day-to-day corporate accounting functions and the related internal controls to drive timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close processes. These responsibilities include, managing day to day activities of the team, variance analysis, account reconciliation, and process improvement over areas covering order to cash, procure to pay, inventory, and payroll management.
- Oversee the full-cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities
- Ensures complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP standards
- Manages close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manages the execution and review of key accounts and transaction cycles.
- Completes analytical review procedures on significant changes period over period
- Supports the year-end financial audit, working directly with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely process
- Liaise with partners in the business, Finance, and IT to improve and automate processes
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of Corp Accounting team, with a focus on process improvements
- Implement internal controls and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
Requirements
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates an understanding of accounting principles, policies and procedures.
- Public accounting experience a plus
- CPA a plus
- A minimum of 1-3 years supervisory experience
- Manufacturing / Distribution / Inventory experience a plus
