Event Planner
LHH Recruitment is hiring a temporary Event Planner for a 3-4 month project for a Client in Overland Park, KS. In this role you will be responsible for conceptualizing, organizing, and executing various events, ensuring all arrangements align with the organization’s vision and goals. They will work closely with an internal committee to ensure comprehensive event coverage. This role will require you to work on-site Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with occasional work on Saturdays (average of once/month for up to 4 hours) and will pay $20-23/hour based on experience. Our ideal candidate with have at least 3 years or more of corporate event planning experience. Read below for additional details!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Consult with the committee to understand event needs, including staffing, venues, catering, security, and other specialized requirements.
Visit prospective event locations and assist in the final selection process.
Compile price lists and draft contracts for services, dates, times, and spaces.
Coordinate with staff to plan and develop event schedules, topics, and featured speakers.
Ensure events comply with legal, safety, and health regulations, obtaining necessary permits.
Manage transportation for guests, attendees, and speakers.
Oversee the registration process for event participants.
Handle all administrative duties associated with the event, including financial operations and distribution of promotional materials.
Develop and maintain lists of available venues, services, and pricing options.
Stay updated on event planning standards and trends.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficient time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Creative problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
Thorough understanding of event-related legal regulations and permits.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Meeting, and Event Planning, or a related field preferred
At least 2-3 years of experience in event or meeting planning
