Junior Accountant

LHH Recruitment solutions is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant for one of our clients in the Madison Heights, MI area. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting or finance and some internship or post college experience handling accounting functions. This position will be a direct hire and will pay up to $60K annually, depending on experience. This company offers excellent growth potential, work life balance, and a terrific benefit package!

Job Duties:

  • Prepare journal entries on a daily and monthly basis
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Running all required month-end reports
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Verify and balance cash transactions
  • Download all required reports for analysis
  • Prepare aging report monthly
  • Serve as back-up for other accounting staff
  • Assist with month end pre-close
  • Complete special projects as required by Controller and CFO

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance
  • At least 1 year of experience in an accounting position
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
