Sales Tax Supervisor

LHH is looking for a Sales Tax Supervisor for a long-standing retail/manufacturing company in Bloomington, MN. This role will have oversight of the entire sales tax function and the internal/external sales tax staff. Candidates need to be out of the box thinkers who don't need a great deal of hand holding to get the job done.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage collaboration with internal and external support staff regarding all things sales tax related. Answer compliance and registration questions and review all funding related to sales tax payments.
• Lead all sales tax audits, business license audits and refund claims.
• Manage customer exemptions.
• Collaborate with the IT team on system related issues and annual testing.
• Act as the SME for Vertex Database and update the system and set-up as needed.
• Review monthly journal entries as they relate to sales tax.
• Manage the use tax accrual process.
• Manage one direct report.
• Oversee international taxation.

EXPERIENCE

• Ability to research and make decisions independently.
• 5 years of sales and use tax experience
• Exposure to sales tax software - preferably Vertex O
• Solid communication skills and attention to detail
