The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CNC programming, machining environments, and a strong background in manufacturing technologies and processes. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in determining and establishing overall manufacturing engineering requirements to ensure efficient production processes and high-quality products. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for various types of CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and 3-axis machines.
- Troubleshoot CNC programs and machine issues to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify manufacturing engineering requirements for machinery, equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Lead efforts to improve manufacturing processes, methods, and practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to production teams to resolve complex manufacturing issues.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process sheets, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technology and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide training on manufacturing processes and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing technologies, processes, methods, machining, assembly, and company operations.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, with a strong understanding of various CNC programs and machine types (mills, lathes, 3-axis).
- Hands-on experience in a machine shop or machining environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
- Demonstrate leadership experience and the ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
