Job Title: Senior MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Analyst
Location: Remote with Some Travel to San Jose, CA
Temporary Contract: 6-months (possibility to extend)
Pay Rate: $38-42/HR
About the Role: The Senior MRP Analyst will be instrumental in advancing best practices in MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems across all work sites. This role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing MRP master data, planning, and purchasing processes to ensure reliable supply/demand signals, improve service levels, and enhance inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Best Practice MRP Solutions: Ensure accurate and well-defined master data that generate reliable MRP signals.
- Standardize lead time strategies and ensure precise lead times across manufacturing, finished goods, and purchased items.
- Clean up system work orders and establish a firm/frozen work order scheduling process.
- Establish procedures for managing purchase orders (PO), work orders (WO), and sales order dates.
- Implement the use of MRP exception messages.
- Utilize the planner workbench for auto-generating POs and WOs.
- Optimize inventory and service levels by adding or removing system buffers.
- Research and Implement ATP Order Management Solutions: Explore and apply Available-to-Promise (ATP) order management solutions to enhance planning accuracy.
- Research and Implement MRP Forecasting Capabilities: Investigate and deploy MRP forecasting functionalities to improve demand planning.
- Create Documented SOPs: Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide training and coaching to purchasing and planning teams on the use of the MRP system and related processes.
- Collaborate with MRP Consulting Firm: Work with an MRP consulting firm to identify gaps and solutions in the current system.
- Define and Develop Analytic Requirements: Specify analytic needs and develop reports, dashboards, or PowerBI analytics to support planning and purchasing activities.
- Identify Additional Technology Solutions: Research and recommend additional technology solutions to enhance the current planning environment.
- Provide Recommendations for Speed of Implementation: Offer actionable recommendations to expedite the implementation process.
- Develop Tools and Methodologies for Process Adherence: Create tools and accountability methodologies to ensure adherence to established processes.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: Over 10 years of experience in driving purchasing and planning process development.
- More than a decade of experience in leading MRP improvement activities.
- Extensive experience (10 years) in manufacturing and supply chain environments.
- Proficiency in analyzing large sets of complex MRP data and identifying rapid solutions to planning and purchasing gaps.
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to organize detailed action plans and drive quick solutions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
