Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor
Title: Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor
- Reports To: Director of Operations
Qualifications:
1. High school Diploma, 5 years experience in building and grounds, ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of department staff
2. Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance, school construction, engineering, department operation, management, school safety, and facility maintenance
3. Experience in estimation and supply needs and ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of department staff
4. Training/Certificates deemed essential by the Director of Operations
Supervises: All warehouse, maintenance, and groundskeeping staff
Job Goal: To provide students and staff with a physical environment that is clean, safe, and efficiently operated
Performance Responsibilities:
- The Maintenance and Grounds supervisor, under the direction of the Director of District Operations, shall:
1. Assume responsibility for the comprehensive overall planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements of the districts schools, office facilities, and grounds
2. Establishes appropriate maintenance, groundskeeping, requirements for each school building
3. Directs the maintenance of all buildings and grounds cleanliness and safety
4. Screens, recommends for hiring, assigns and supervises all maintenance, and grounds staff
5. Determines and establishes detailed specifications/needs pertaining to supplies, materials, and equipment
6. Recommends necessary equipment and supplies and maintains inventory
7. Maintains schedules of work for each individual building and sees that proper supplies are on hand
8. Establishes guidelines for the division of responsibility for repairs
9. Keeps abreast of new work methods, procedures, and equipment
10. Ensures that standards consistent with all applicable local, state, and federal laws are maintained
11. Inspects all school buildings, grounds, and installations on a regular basis to determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety, and security are maintained
12. Plans and implements a program of preventive maintenance
13. Inspects and maintains fire alarm system and fire extinguishers on a regularly scheduled basis
14. Leads the preparation of playing fields, grounds, and other necessary facilities for athletics and other school activities
15. Plans and ensures that all state, federal and local required inspections are completed in a timely, routine manner
16. Be able to become proficient in district systems: Metasys, Asset Essentials, Fire Alarm controls, etc.
17. All other duties as assigned. - Terms of Employment:Full year, salary
